i want to foster but...

i get it. i really do. you want to help, you want to do your part and you want to keep your life as it is. you are someone who has a huge heart for people but there is something in the way.

maybe it is a husband who refuses to let his home open to foster kids.

maybe it is the stage of life you are already providing care to your young children or older parents.

maybe you have someone with a sickness or special needs that is taking all you have to even think of the next day.

maybe you don’t have the space, the money, the security or anything else to take the next step in fostering.

that is ok! if it keeps pushing to the front of your mind in those quiet times or when you let yourself dream a little then don’t stop your heart. there are many ways to get started in this in-between time.

wanna know how to help? here are awesome ways!

sponsor a local foster family- reach out to them and commit to either some baking, a meal a week, running one errand (ie. grocery shopping or car wash), putting money toward a vacation or a night out. you can randomly text the family to see if they need their recycling taken in if you are going anyway or even if you have extra clothing in their size.

volunteer- go to the local women’s shelter or speak to your local church to ask how you can serve local families. By helping our struggling families you are helping children stay out of the foster care system. You can also volunteer at events to recruit foster families.

share- the best thing you can possibly do is share what we share. We share things on social media to bring awareness to the need, we share our stories so that people see that it DOES NOT take a saint or even anyone special to do this... anyone can. also PLEASE share our businesses! i run my businesses so that i can stay home to parent these children who come from unhealthy situations. i run my business with huge goals so that i can keep fostering and for that it means getting a bigger home so we have more space. supporting our businesses means we can do more and it usually means getting something cool like beautiful hair, healing oils or hilarious cards.

these are a few ways you can help in very real ways. you may know that i sell monat and that i run a photography business, but did you also know i have some crazy talented friend. i have linked a few businesses run by amazing foster families if you feel led to help in that way.
